Grand Opening

Mother Hubbard's Bradford
The First Mother Hubbard’s fish & chips restaurant on Ingleby Road. Bradford was completed at a cost of £92,000 in 1972. It was opened by Coronation Street Favourites, Stan & Hilda Ogden. Haddock and chips back then cost just 45p!

Here we can see updated signage in the front car park advertising ‘Family Style Fish Restaurant’. Morrisons supermarket is visible in the rear of the image which is still there to this day.

2012

Mother Hubbard's Revival
With the closure in 2006 to the dismay of customers and staff, a group of new owners bought the business and decided to bring back the fish and chip shop, but with a new feel for 2012. Speaking on behalf of the group, co-owner Mubasshir Hussain said “It is a landmark in Bradford, we all grew up there, we used to go regularly for fish and chips. It can only be good news for Bradford.”

2016

Mother Hubbard's Leeds & Wakefield
Two new Mother Hubbards restaurants open in 2016. The first one is at Horbury Road, Wakefield and the second one is at Harehills Road, Leeds.

2023

Mother Hubbard's Scotland
Mother Hubbard’s Scotland is a separate entity from the UK Mother Hubbard’s Famous Fish & Chips stores. The Glasgow Quay site has undertaken an extensive fit out and is the flagship store for Scotland. 
We are looking to open 25 stores across Scotland over the next 5 years with the team securing a £12m investment for the Scotland sites, these will be a combination of Franchise and company owned stores, creating 750 jobs across Scotland. Our vision is to make Fish & Chips sexy.
